Katie Bolinder Sandford
Katie has a B.A. in Social Work from Gordon College, and a Masters of Arts Degree in Community Development and Organization from North Park University in Chicago. After college, Katie was a case manager and then homeless services coordinator, working with families in state-funded shelters and hotels on Boston's North Shore, through North Shore Community Action Programs. With the encouragement and support of her friends who were homeless, Katie was privileged to begin New Community Covenant Church's Warming Center, now known as Open Arms Ministry, in Chicago's Logan Square neighborhood. The Warming Center provided community and resources during the day for people experiencing homelessness in Chicago. During this time Katie also served on the board of the Logan Square Neighborhood Association as chair of housing and land use. After returning to Brockton, Katie worked as Congregate Housing Coordinator for Old Colony Elder Services, and now works with Brockton Christian Mentoring Initiative, building church and community partnerships to provide caring adult mentors to Brockton-area youth.
Katie is married to Greg and mom to Axel. They are proud to call Brockton their home and excited to call Brockton Covenant Church their family.
